Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Installation of optical fiber and copper cable in ceiling, conduits and raised floors; routes cable within walls and modular furniture; terminates both fiber & copper cabling
  • Terminates and dresses Telecommunication Rooms following  BICSI standard termination processes
  • Tests cable and ensures accuracy of cable testing, documentation and storage
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of cabling standards
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans
  • Leads other technicians through task completion
  • Ensures accurate completion of Time Sheets and other related project documents
  • Trains entry-level/ temporary technicians as required
  • Works in a safe manner and promotes safety within the team
  • Maintains security and accountability for company assets and materials
  • Ensure compliance with all HR, Safety, and company policies and procedures
  • Interacts with LINX installation team, customers, and all levels of LINX personnel
  • Ensures that all technical, quality, and profitability objectives are met while maintaining top level customer satisfaction
  • Adheres to all LINX quality standards and ensures quality of work by other team members

Technical

  • BICSI certified Installer Level 1 (preferred)
  • Basic fiber knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of LAN design
  • Proficient use of technical tools & equipment
  • Adequate knowledge of cabling infrastructures
  • Efficient project documentation (e.g. test results)
  • Quality & safety awareness & adherence
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints
  • Ability to set & reach daily goals
  • Can read & understand Scope of Work and Bill of Materials
  • Ability to identify changes in Scope of Work during installation
