Location: Denver, CO

Making an Impact:
The University of Denver’s new computer and network infrastructure installed by LINX serves a vital role in enriching the teaching, learning and research environment by providing students, faculty and staff convenient access to technology services campus-wide. |
Account Overview & Scope
This project included a complete redesign of the campus infrastructure (OSP) as well as the construction of a new UTS building – the “BRAIN” for the university campus. The Outside Plant Campus Infrastructure included multi-pair copper in 100-pair, 200-pair, 300-pair, 900-pair and 1200 pair configurations with the total cable footage exceeding 6,000 feet. Over 10,000 feet of Multi-mode and Singlemode fiber optic cable was installed in 8 -strand, 24-strand, 48-strand, 72-strand and 96-strand configurations. |
Within DU’s UTS building, extensive closet build-outs were installed in three IDF’s, one Server Room, and one Demarcation Room. Each room included equipment racking, ladder rack installation, extensive cable management, and professional cable dressing. The horizontal plant included over 400 cable outlets utilizing 90,000 ft of Category 6 cable. In the backbone, 3,000 ft of fiber (single-mode and multi-mode) and 1600 ft of multi-pair copper were installed. Due to the intricacy of the project, coordination between LINX, DU, the Infrastructure Consultant and the Heavy Equipment Contractor was critical to its successful execution. |
