Academy D-20 Account Overview & Scope:
LINX has played an important role in implementing new network infrastructure at nearly every Academy District-20 School. The challenge to meet the needs of each unique facility presented LINX with many opportunities to use the latest in network cabling, security and audio visual technology. The District, as a whole, places a great emphasis on providing the best technology for learning, even at older schools. When working at existing facilities, LINX took great care in providing the highest quality installation possible while minimizing the disruption to students and staff. |
The large-scale, Discovery Canyon campus presented a unique challenge for LINX because of the diversity in technologies that were to be integrated as part of a universal network. A campus-wide security system was installed to include alarm and camera monitoring devices all controlled from security stations at each of the three school sections (Elementary, Middle and High schools). School alarm bells were installed throughout and were connected on the network to a GPS device to ensure all clocks were set to the same time and bells could be controlled universally. Audio-visual systems were installed in most classrooms and plasma televisions were installed throughout the halls to display announcements to students and staff. LINX installed main cable “trunks” in easily accessible hallway areas to allow for more efficient, and therefore less expensive, future changes. The neatly labeled terminations and Velcro-tied cable bundles allow cabling technicians to easily adapt the network to meet the facility's future needs. |
