LINX Client: Hewlett Packard

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

HP Profile:

“HP focuses on simplifying technology experiences for all of its customers — from individual consumers to the largest businesses. With a portfolio that spans printing, personal computing, software, services and IT infrastructure, HP is among the world’s largest IT companies.”- www.hp.com

Hewlett Packard—Account Overview & Scope:

The Colorado Springs, CO HP campus is an expansive working facility, so the installation of a new fiber network required a great deal of planning to reduce any disruption in employee productivity.  LINX took great care to ensure that Hewlett Packard received an installation they would be proud of while substantially minimizing “down-time.”

The project included the installation of a new cabling infrastructure requiring new Lazrspeed fiber cabling, re-routing of existing cable and demolition of old fiber optic cabling.  The facility’s impressive size required LINX to install over 15,000 ft of multimode 50 micron fiber optic cable, 400 ft of single mode fiber, 6,600 ft of indoor/ outdoor single mode fiber and 200 ft of 12- strand 62.5 multimode fiber.  The project required over 4,000 fiber connector terminations.  LINX also provided over 11,000 ft of CAT 5E and CAT 6 4- pair cabling, and over 4,000 ft of coaxial cabling.

As seen below, all cable tray installations at HP are consistently executed with the highest standards in quality.  All fiber optic cable bundles are cleanly segregated at varying degrees of bend without exceeding the product’s recommended bend radius.  Furthermore, each fiber bundle can be easily traced from where it enters and exits the room and throughout the cable tray. Great care is taken in isolating specific fibers at each fiber patch panel. Cable bundles are dressed using Velcro to ensure the installation will be flexible to meet Hewlett Packard’s needs for many years.

Focus on Innovation:

Hewlett Packard is the “leading innovator in next-generation datacenters”.  LINX is proud to work along side HP in developing the newest technology installations to meet the needs of a constantly changing marketplace.
