LINX Client: Denver Health Medical Center

Location: Denver, CO

Making an Impact:

The Denver Health Medical Center’s new addition has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council for its environmentally responsible “green” design and construction.

Account Overview & Scope:

The new Denver Health Medical Center addition presented LINX with the opportunity to be part of the first public safety net hospital project in the country to be designated as LEED Silver for its focus on environmental sustainability.  LINX enthusiastically partnered with M.A. Mortenson to complete the project on time and on budget.   “Built for quality, built for safety, and built for efficiency,“ the Pavilion for Women and Children required the installation of a new fiber and copper backbone on 5 floors throughout the 218,000 sq. ft. facility.  High-speed Systimax 2071 cabling was used to compliment Denver Health’s focus on meeting the current and future needs of patients.

The installation, termination and testing of the fiber and copper backbone in the new Denver Health addition required LINX to work within an stringent build-out schedule to ensure on-time completion of the project. This timeline was particularly important to Denver Health and LINX because the project was funded using tax payer bond initiative, ultimately requiring a persistent focus on making each tax dollar go as far as possible.

The new network infrastructure supports 107 beds, 15 private labor delivery rooms, surgery suites, neonatal intensive-care units, security, paging, master clock systems, CATV, and nurse call capabilities throughout the facility.  As with every installation, LINX quality workmanship is evident by every finished termination and dressed cable bundle. All cable bundles are neatly tied with Velcro to offer the maximum flexibility for changes in the future.  Throughout the facility, LINX technicians consistently focus on meeting industry standards to ensure proper bend radius and support for each bundle.
Focus on Conservation:

LINX contributed to the use of recycled materials for this project by recycling copper, cardboard and other paper products. LINX is proud to support environmentally conscious building practices and the work Denver Health is doing to conserve resources.
