Top Denver Telecom Company buys No. 2 Firm in Market

LINX makes second acquisition in 15 months

Denver, Colo. (Nov. 3, 2008) – LINX LLLP, a communications infrastructure provider, acquired Sequel Communications Monday in a deal that will create a combined $32 million-a-year company.

LINX and Sequel are considered, respectively, the No. 1 and No. 2 voice and data cable installation companies in Denver, according to industry vendors. Both companies were established in 2003 and have been the fastest growing businesses in their market sector and geographic region for the past five years.

“This purchase by LINX brings together two market leaders that will be able to provide unmatched buying power and talent in Colorado,” LINX president Erik Isernhagen said. “As the clear market leader, LINX will be able to set the tone for quality installation standards and help clients remain on time and on budget.”

LINX generated more than $23 million in revenue last year — up more than 62 percent from 2006. It was recently listed on the Inc. 5000 and the magazine ranked LINX No. 19 on the Top 50 businesses in Denver and No. 34 for the Top 100 telecommunications companies in the country.

Last year, LINX expanded its business into the audio and visual systems marketplace with the purchase of Denver-based ANSI. That purchase created additional services for LINX clients’ commercial audio/visual needs, including video conferencing.

LINX operates four lines of business: voice and data cable installation, security systems integration, audio and visual systems integration, and voice and data services. Two recent LINX customers include The Children’s Hospital at Fitzsimons and Visa.

Sequel generated $13 million in revenue for 2007 and its customers include Sun Microsystems and University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

“This acquisition will combine two of the fastest growing telecommunications companies in the Rocky Mountain region and will provide expanded career opportunities for our employees,” Sequel president Ivan Graumann said.
